Cyberpunk 2077: Spectral Freedom now has a release date that was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase along with a new cinematic trailer. The premiere of the DLC is scheduled for September 26.
The first footage of the engine has been revealed Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Freedom an expansion that debuts new character Idris Elba and returning Keanu Reeves. It also gives us a deeper look at Night City’s late game as V and a cast of new characters try to find a way to save lives. As expected, the first new paid story DLC takes place before the conclusion of the main storyline.
Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for more Cyberpunk action to come. The base game launched in late 2020 and has since been enhanced with numerous patches and in-game content as well as the popular Netflix platform Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series too. It’s great to see Johnny Silverhand back in action, and the presence of Idris Elba is greatly appreciated in what promises to be the next big thing for one of the best RPGs around.
Cyberpunk 2077 gained immense popularity due to the success of the anime and the many patches the game received. However, seasoned fans have been waiting almost three years for more high-quality story content. This is especially needed considering the fact that the main story can be completed in around 25 hours if you’re progressing through Beeline. Exactly how long is currently unknown Spectral Freedom there will be, but we hope for at least a good 10 hours.
The return of Johnny Silverhand is a smart move by the development team, as the character played by Keanu Reeves remains hugely popular. His contribution to the story is entirely instrumental, so more time spent with him and possibly Rogue, as well as the other members of The Afterlife, is sure to be a hit.
While E3 2023 isn’t taking place, that hasn’t stopped other publishers from hosting their own demos, and we’re bringing all the action right here.
